About Me

             Hi I’m Lefty, The founder and owner of Lefty’s Chain-Maille. At a young age I have always been fascinated by chainmail and a more than natural curiosity about how things were made. This curiosity led me to learn more about sewing, wood working, gardening, wood carving and drawing. It wasn’t until 2004 when I first tried to make a chainmail shirt and coif for a friend and discovered how much I enjoyed making chainmail. Needless to say, I now coil and cut my own rings. All the rings I make are saw cut, with the exception of titanium and steel. At this time I don’t anodized my own rings. I plan to do so at some point, but I just don’t have the time or space for the process.
